EOTD SMOKEY EYES USING COASTAL SCENTS 88 ORIGINAL PALETTE

Hi everyone!
I am doing a quick and very short post on this EOTD I created using the COASTAL SCENTS ORIGINAL 88 PALETTE. I have created a collage with step wise turotrial. If you want I can do a write up as well. Just let me know.
So here is the look.

 Here are the colors marked in numbers as I used them.
1.Is for all over the lids.
2.On and over the crease.
3.On the outer corners of the eyes.
4.HIghlight shade on the tear duct and under the brow bone.

Is a super short blog post. But I shall do the write up if any one wants. Just please let me know.

LORAC EYESHADOW IN GARNET REVIEW

Hey everyone!
Today I am going to be reviewing the LORAC cosmetics eyeshadow in GARNET.
 Just a little back track to the last post I did, I used this eyeshadow. And I love this color so so so much.

Okies so let me tell you a bit about LORAC. Its a high end brand started by a makeup artist whose name is CAROL SHAW. Fun fact LORAC is named after CAROL...its just CAROL spelled back wards! Its pronounced as LA-ROCK not LO-RACK . Guilty!!
Anyhoo... lets begin the review.

This eyeshadow is a part of the famous famous LORAC PRO PALETTE.
PRICE: Well when I bought it they were for $19 a piece, and now they are for $6 for 1.7 gms of product. Can you believe it. Go grab it now.

COLOR: GARNET is a medium copper eye shadow with red undertones and is almost metallic, not too reflective not too frosty either.

PIGMENTATION: GARNET is insanely pigmented, you need very little product to get the color pay off. The swatch here is a single swipe. 

TEXTURE: It goes on smooth and is not one bit chalky. I did not face any issues with the fall outs. And it goes on smooth and blends easily. These are meant to be used as wet or dry. When you want to intesify the look or use any of these eyeshadows as a liner you can use them on a damp brush.

STAYING POWER: I never apply eye shadows without a primer, and when I put this to test (with an eyeshadow primer) well it lasted well over 9 hours, I had to take my makeup off, but the eye makeup was intact. I'm sure it would have lasted even more. Staying power is amazing. By the end of the day there was no fading and no creasing what so ever. I am not kidding.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

I would say I am totally impressed with the LORAC eyeshadow GARNET, it made its way into the PRO palette is proof enough of its versatility and goodness. Its insanely pigmented, you need very little product at a time, it goes on smooth and staying power is beyond amazing.It blends like a dream, so easy to work with and the color is complimentary on everyone.  Here is the EOTD I did using the GARNET eyeshadow on the outer half of the lids.

INDIAN FESTIVE TIME EYE MAKEUP EOTD

Hello everyone!
Navratri has begun!!! For the uninitiated, its an Indian Festival which celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over the devil Mahushasura.
The mythology aside, its also time for a lot of celebration and festivities. There is a lot of garba and dandiya (dance forms) involved along with lot of strolling around and roaming about with friends and family and indulging in the yummylicious food!!!
Yum Yum...missing Kolkata. Its the best time of the year according to me to be in Kolkata.
Okay well this post is in regards to the ongoing festivities and also many more to come.
For this FOTD/LOTD  I have used copper, gold kind of shades. This makeup will compliment well with Indian tradtional wear, and its perfect makeup for the INDIAN Festive Season
Hope you all like it and incorporate it somehow and find it useful.
So lets begin!
1. I primed my lids NYX EYESHADOW BASE in skin tone, to negate any pigmentation on the lids. And taking a flat eyeshadow brush and using patting motion I applied the brown copper eye shadow on the outer half of the lids and also on the lower lash line(outer half only).

2. Next I used a orange based gold eyeshadow on the lids with the same eyeshadow brush and applied it on the lower lash line( inner half).

3.Next taking a matte brown eyeshadow I applied it on the crease to darken it.

4.Next I applied a shimmery gold eyeshadow on the tear duct, and lightly blended the dark brown on the crease. For the highlight I used a matte beige/white color eyeshadow, but you can go all out and use a shimmery highlight as well.

5. Applied a black gel eye liner and mascara on top and bottom lashes. Its done.

Hope you all like this and give it a try.
Here is the FOTD. I used a burnt orange blush on the cheeks, and for the lips I used an apricot lipstick and topped it off with a coral lip gloss from NYX. I shall update the post will the details of the products used soon. I promise, but I just wanted to get this post up soon.
I gave a  little INDIAN twist to the FOTD by using Indian jewelry. How do you guys like it?

COVERGIRL LIP PERFECTION LIPSTICK IN ETERNAL 350 : REVIEW AND SWATCH

Hey everyone!
So officially we are into the fall season and hence most of the posts are going to cater to the colors and looks appropriate for the season in sync with the latest trend ( not really).
But yes most of the looks and reviews will center around the mood of the season. So this post is on COVERGIRL lipstick which I know is going to get a lot of use this season. Its called ETERNAL, and like the name suggests the color is an eternally flattering.

PRICE: $6.99 USD, and an outrageous price of 1600 INR on snapdeal.

PACKAGING: I love the packaging on this lipstick, the metallic feeling gunmetal color in a square shaped bullet fives this lipstick luxurious feel like that of a high end lipstick. At the end of the bullet there is a transparent casing through which you can easily see the color.

COLOR: Ooo..The color is a deep fuchsia with blue undertones bordering on magenta and yet not quiet so dark.
If you want get into the fall mood and are not ready to dab the darkest/goth lipstick there is its a good lipstick to start with. Its still bold and seeks attention though not screams attention.

TEXTURE: This lipstick is creamy rich and glides on the lips effortlessly. Its on the creamier side but doesnt slip, though you will notice some bleeding if you apply it without a lipliner. So a quick tip to avoid bleeding with this lipstick would be to line your lips first.

PIGMENTATION: Its insanely pigmented. Just one swipe gives you a perfectly opaque finish. All the lip swatches in this post are just one swipe. You can definitely build up the color as deep as you desire.

STAYING POWER AND PERFORMANCE:  I have compared these lipsticks to the Maybelline colorsensational range earlier , the texture and pigmentation is very comparable along with the price range( in USA).

But where these lipsticks score over Maybelline's are in their staying power. Where Maybelline disappears after 3 hours me these stay a  good 4 to 5 hours before they start to fade.

So overall I love this lipstick, I was ecstatic to find COVERGIRL products on Snapdeal, but the prices are such downer. Its a drugstore brand lipstick and I can neither justif nor suggest anyone to spend INR1600 on this one. But if you can shop from the USA, then its worth a try. I am certain you will love it.

NYX POWDER BLUSH IN PINCHED REVIEW

Hey everyone!
Today's post is going to be dedicated to blushing. No, no I am not blushing over anything, just reviewing the NYX POWDER BLUSH in PINCHED. I am a big fan of NYX cream blushes, and had been reading great bit of reviews on their powder blushes too, so I decided to finally get myself one. I wanted to buy the blush called Desert Rose but that was out of stock so my next choice was this PINCHED.
Judging by the name I thought in my mind the color should be pink as in when some one pinches your cheeks how pink they should look that kind of pink..Okay thats what I thought, silly me you know!
Anyhoo I got his one for $5.99 USD or in INDIA its priced at INR 650.
The packaging is a square shaped plastic container with a transparent lid so you can easily see the color. It doesnt come with a blush brush or a mirror.

There is a wide variety of shades available fromt his range around 27. That is one too many girls!
So coming back to this one. The color at first glance looks all pinky pink and I am like no come on! Not another one. But I was wrong and was glad I glad I was wrong.

Its basically a pink blush with coral hues and golden shimmers, which are finely milled.

I have to be honest though it was not love at first sight, but this blush grew on me.
When I swatched it and blended it I could see the shimmers on my hand which I am not a big fan of but on further blending I could see the shimmers spreading evenly.

And unlike blushes its not super pigmented, which I like actually, when it comes to blushes I prefer them to be of okay pigmentation with build-able color of-course. It makes it a hassle rather to be so conscious while applying a blush. So I am glad this one is decently pigmented .

For application I would suggest to use a light hand to evenly distribute the shimmer.
The shimmer is not so much an issue with this blush, it doesnt have too much sparkly shimmer, it rather gives a glow to the face.

The staying power is okay it stays put on me for a good 4 to 5 hours and if I apply it over a cream blush then I am set for the day!

I am currently pairing this with NYX CREAM BLUSH IN GLOW and it goes perfectly well together. I have reviewed GLOW HERE
So overall its a thumps up for me on this beautiful more pink less peach blush!

MAYBELLINE LILAC MAUVE QUAD EOTD LILAC SMOKEY EYES

Hey everyone!

I am back with yet another pictorial, and yet another look with the Maybelline's quad in Lilac Mauve that I recently reviewed.
I has mentioned in that post that I shall be showing more looks with the same quad. In the earlier post this is the look I created. You can see the post and read the review on the quad HERE

 For this EOTD I used all the shades from this palette. Here is a collage showing the step wise procedure to achieve this look.

1. After priming the lids with NYX EYESHADOW BASE I applied the darkest shade on the lids leaving the center of the lids bare.
2. Next taking the second lightest shade in the quad I applied it on the center of the lids.
3. After that I took the third eyeshadow( second darkest shade)and applied in on the inner corner and outer corner of the lids leaving a little bit of the darker shade untouched.
4.Taking the darkest eyeshadow on the eyeshadow brush I applied it on the lower lash line leaving the inner third for the lightest eyesahdow.
5.Taking a small blending brush lightly blend the eye shadows on the crease area and then on the lower lash line as well. Make sure not to over blend anything.
6. Taking the lightest shade highlight under the brow bone. Apply black eye liner and mascara and the look is done!
