EYESHADOW BRUSH : COLORBAR REVIEW AND USES

Hello friends, today's post is going to be a review on Colorbar Eyeshadow Brush.

Makeup brushes are to makeup enthusiasts what knives are to chefs. They are your weapons  or tools without which you cant function.You can never have too many. This is what I say to myself each time I get a new makeup brush.brush

My latest acquisition being the COLORBAR eyeshadow brush. Well what prompted me to by it was its cute look. Colored bristles and by the looks of it it looked quiet nice.

So lets begin...

Its priced at INR 250 and is easily available online or at colorbar outlets.

Now when I opened it I was pleasantly surprised to find the bristles to be very soft. I was impressed. This is my first brush from Colorbar.

Upon looking closely I could see that the bristles are tightly and closely packed, making it easier to pick up more product and the flat shape ensures you can distribute the eyeshadow evenly.

Love it. Though I have one major issue with this brush, its the size. I found it rather small for an eyeshadow brush. If only it were a little big bigger it would have score those brownie points from. 

But I still recommend it.

This brush is ideal for applying cream bases. Maybelline COLOR TATTOO to MAC paint pots. This eyeshadow brush will help distributing the cream base evenly on the lids.

Next this eyeshadow brush is perfect for applying eyeshadow on the lower lashline and also blending it. The bristles are tight so there wouldnt be worries of fall out, if you tap off the excess product.

You can also apply your eyeshadow in the inner tear duct with this brush perfectly. The small size makes it perfect for that purpose.

While doing a cut crease this brush is optimal as you can get a dense and precise application with this brush.

These are just a few ways I use this brush, not for applying the eye shadow on the lids, I find it small for that purpose, but if you have smaller eyes, or lesser space to work with hen this brush is just perfect for you.

As they dont judge a book by its cover. This brush didnt work for me the way it was meant to but it works just as well in other ways. Here is the comparison with other flat eyeshadow brushes.

RED LIPSTICKS FOR HOLIDAY 2013 MY PICKS

Hola, hola!!!
I had promised for this post some time back. I love Red lipsicks is no secret to those who read my blog. But I surprised even myself when I started digging out my red lipstick stash for this post. I have 6 of these now and I know atleast 3 more than I am lusting. But thankfully after doing this post I have convinced myself to not buy another Red Lipstick until I finish atleast one of this. I know not gonna happen. But still atleast it will stop me from buying the latest M.A.C retro matte ones.
So lets begin. I will go from lightest to darkest.

1.REVLON CANDY APPLE: I love this one. Okay this is going to be a common line for all the lipsticks. I love this because its my "no attention seeker" / "day time"Red lipstick. Its juicy and moisturizing and makes the lips look plump. I've had many asking me what lipstick it is. Here is the swatch and how it looks on me. I have reviewed it HERE

2. MAYBELLINE MAT 4: This is the latest addition to my stash. I bought it for the matte effect, but its not matte by any means. But I still love it ( get many compliments whenever I have applied this,, so gotta love it). Jokes apart, I like how it lifts up the entire face and it a perfect balance between blue and orange undertone. Its neither too dark not too light. Here is the  FOTD using this lipstick. 3. MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL LIPSTICK IN FATAL RED: I got this lipstick after Lisa Eldridge recommended it in one of her YOU TUBE videos. This and one another one from REVLON Matte called REALLY RED. Girls please if any of you know where I can buy it from in INDIA please let me know. I lost mine ( very sad face) and cant find it now anywhere to repurchase.
Anyways back to Fatal Red I like this one because its not a  very fiery red, next to other red lipsticks it looks more orange. It suits Indian complexion well. Read review HERE

4. COLORBAR HEARTS AND TARTS: I have recently reviewed this lipstick, and it honestly hasnt been that long since I have bought it. But its the mattest if that is even a word) red lipstick I have. Its not too drying on the lips and is perfect for my dry lips, although exfoliation is highly recommended.You can read the detailed review along with HERE

5. RIMMEL LASTING FINISH BY KATE MOSS NO. 11: This is the most "hatke" Red, its bordering on maroon but appears on the red side on my lips. 6. L'OREAL INFALLIBLE LIPSTICK IN REFINED RUBY: This is hands down the most beautiful RED lipstick I have or want, I love it over M.A.C Russian Red and Ruby Woo . Yes you heard it right. I have swatched it side by side with those MAC. lipsticks but still loved this one more that is why they havent made an entry yet into my vanity. HERE is the review and FOTD using this favorite.

COLORBAR VELVET MATTE LIPSTICK IN HEARTS AND TARTS REVIEW

Today is a RED HOT LIPSTICK KIND OF DAY.
 I was feeling tired today and I knew just what I wanted to perk up my spirits an amazing RED LIPSTICK. I love red red red! It is truly said that there is a red lipstick for every woman! And I truly feel that every girl should absolutely and truly own one red lipstick (at least).

Even if you feel you cant carry it off just buy one and try it on. Apply it just at home get comfortable with it and then when you will be showered with compliments you will yourself wear it outside with all the confidence in the world. COLORBAR VELVET MATTE LIPSTICK is the perfect budget lipstick to start off with.
Today I am reviewing the lipstick HEARTS AND TARTS from the VELVET MATTE range.
I am falling "Dangerously in Love" with this range.
Okay so lets begin with the details on PACKAGING ,it comes packaged in a silver cylindrical bullet with a transparent cap and on the other end you can see the color of the lipstick which helps identifying the shade of lipstick. So full marks on packaging.
Priced at INR 275 These are a steal! But these are now almost discontinued. So grab your favorite ones while you still can.
Hearts And Tarts is a beautiful red which is on the darker side and not a bright red. The color is a winner across all the complexions, its going to look good on everyone.

The lipstick glides on effortlessly on the lips, being a matte finish lipstick I expected it to be dry, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found it to be so smooth and non drying on the lips. It is definitely not a moisturizing lipstick (its not possible for it to be matte and hydrating at the same time) so its better to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying this if you have dry and chapped lips. I found it a tad bit more drier than the other lipstick I have from this range, Over the Top.

Pigmentation wise too I was pretty impressed with the lipstick, one swipe and your lips are covered. You get an opaque pigmentation only in one swipe, although I personally like to build up the color for a darker looking red lip.

The staying power on this lipstick is pretty decent. It easily stays on my lips for 5 plus hours without fading and bleeding and also fades out evenly and despite having dry lips it didnt settle onto the fine lines.
What more can I ask for. It delivered more than I asked it to.
Its a lovely color and the best budget lipstick with high end quality! Go for it girls you wont be disappointed.

COLORBAR VELVET MATTE LIPSTICK : OVER THE TOP

Hey girls!
I am in good spirits today writing this post on the weekend after a relaxing day and an even more relaxing evening. And yes you read the title correct, even I finally jumped the bandwagon aboard with everyone else!
This is my very first purchase from Colorbar, and honestly I wouldnt have bought it had I not read all the fantabulous reviews and seen the awesome swatches online.
You might have seen this lipstick in the haul post I did and I kept it somewhere and forgot about it then my bestie asked me during our chit chats howz the new lipstick you got and I was like I got a new lipstick?
Then after a hurried search I found it.
So here is my review on it.

When I went to buy this I had in my mind 3 to 4 more shades to buy but the SA was too terrible, didnt know the price the shades the names nothing! So after much confusion I left the store with only this one. I am pretty happy with the color, its different than my other lipsticks. Just that makes me more happy and content about my purchase that I didnt buy  lipstick similar to one I already own.

Its PRICED at around 250-300 INR depending on where you buy it from.

The COLOR  is a bit difficult to explain because it looks completely different on my friend than it does on me, but from what I gather its a mix of pink and coral( more coral) with brown undertones.

I hate browns, but this is not absolutely not brown in any way or form.

It looks pretty deep here in the tube. The packaging is quiet nice, its comes in a silver cylindrical tube with a plastic cap. and the bottom also has a transparent section where you can see the color. For the price range I didnt quiet expect decent packaging but I am impressed with it, it doesnt look cheap at all.

The TEXTURE of this lipstick is a bit on the thicker side but it glides on the lips effortlessly. It doesnt tug or pull on the lips, in-fact it was so smooth I thought it wont look matte, because matte lipsticks are supposed to be a bit drying.

 The PIGMENTATION is superb one coat and its opaque. You need not use it twice.

The color is different on the lips from the tube, it looks darker in the tube.

The staying power is amazing too, it lasted a good 5 hours on me, despite a meal ofcourse there was some feathering but other than that I love its staying power and the FINISH is matte matte means matte.

HAUL POST: A LITTLE BIT OF THIS AND THAT

HOLYYYY HAULINGGGGG...
In my mind I read it really slowly and gradually raised my voice...sounds better now?? Huh? Huh?? Just kidding. Its a haul post so I am excited and happy, all the purchase was unnecessary and impromptu courtesy of the Man! Thank you:).
Its a small haul, as I said nothing I took I had planned on just strolling in the mall you gotta pick something right?? AAH well not really, but then what else can you do its like being in a candy store and allowed to eat some.
Okay Okay back to the post, I know I went off track...
So here it is..

 Here is he run down:
1. ESBEDA HANDBAG: It was a recent purchase not part of this particular shopping trip, but I included it.

 2. COLORBAR LIPSTICK IN OVER THE TOP  This was probably the only item I knew I would take, but the SA was so dull and disinterested I picked up only one .

 3. M&S SHOWER GEL : Random purchase also picked up a hand cream but couldnt locate it for pictures.

4. YELLOW BOW BRACELET : Looked kinda cute , now not so sure! :(

 5. ZARA GRAPHIC TEES : A month back I picked up quiet many neon colored bottoms so now I am stocking up graphic tees to go over them, Loved the collection at ZARA, will pay another visit soon!

6. THE BODY SHOP COCONUT BEAUTIFYING OIL:  Dry skin...even drier hairs! Hope it works.

 7. ZARA SHOES: My favorite part of the shopping...They are so comfy too!! double Yay!!
