REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK IN BLACK CHERRY 477 REVIEW

Hey everyone, today I am going to review the best and my most awesome and favorite shade for this time of the year its the REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK IN BLACK CHERRY.

PRICED at INR 525 these lipsticks are readily available in INDIA. Yippie!!! There are around 40 shades in the super lustrous range and exactly as the name say they are lustrous!

REVLON LIPSTICK IN BLACK CHERRY 477

REVLON BLACK CHERRY is a deep berry color lipstick which instantly brightens up the face. It looks almost black in the tube but thankfully its not so black.

The pigmentation is very nice, one swipe of the lipstick gives a nice cherry color on the lips, and if you want to build it up to the full extent of a dark berry look you can.
With two swipes you can get full on dark berry lips. Perfect perfect for the winter season.
The lipstick does have a sheen to it, its not matte, but if you do want  matte look you can dab a tissue on the lips and its becomes matte. The texture is semi sheen. The lipstick is creamy and is not dry at all, but if you have chapped lips its always good to exfoliate.

The color is pigmented and the formula creamy and rich so it all adds to the staying power. It easily stays upto 5 hours on my lips when it starts fading after meals. One complaint I have that this lipstick bleeds, while lighter colors are more forgiving than such darker colors so I always always apply this lipstick over a lip liner. But it leaves a beautiful stain on the lips, as it fades evenly.

BLACK CHERRY LIPSTICK, is not evryone's cup of tea, its pretty dark and goth shade. But it can very easily be used as a stain, the color it gives it beautiful.

ELF BLUSH BRUSH REVIEW 4 IN 1 BRUSH

Hey everyone,
For today's post I am going to be doing a quick review on the E.L.F. cosmetics studio BLUSH brush.
The reason I am reviewing this brush is to show you the versatility of this brush. I f you have something similar in your vanity you can use it for multiple purposes.
Lets jump right in..

PRICED at $3 USD it is as cheap as they come.

ELF brushes are good quality brushes and great option for those on a budget or the ones who are starting out into makeup and trying their hands at different products without burning a hole in the pocket. 

The bristles of the brush are very soft and the brush doesnt bleed on washing. I have been using it for two years now and it still looks like new. The brush does not shed while washing, that is a major plus.

Here are the three different ways I use this brush. Not all at once though.

1. The BLUSH brush is quiet unique in the shape, its tapered on the  sides and comes up at a point on the top. It is precisely this shape that makes it ideal for contouring and highlighting. 

The tapered shape makes it easy to allow to place the product exactly how to want it and since its round and fluffy as well it is easier to blend away the harsh contour lines with this brush. Hold the brush sideways and apply the product.

2. Same goes for highlighting. I like how this brush is not too dense to pick up a lot of product and not too light either. Its has the perfect balance. So if I use it as a highlighter I just pick up some product on the tip of the brush and apply the highlighter and lightly blend it.

3.You may also use it to set your POWDER BRUSH, to set the foundation and concealer. Its just the perfect size neither too big nor too small. I often time use this brush as a setting brush or my loose powder specially to set the concealer. Just lay the brush flat on the loose powder and the tapered shape is perfect to apply it on the under eye area. 

4.This brush can also be used as a BLUSH BRUSH for powder brushes. Just lay the brush flat on the brush as against on the sides. This is the most obvious use...as it is indeed a BLUSH brush.

THE FOUR FOUNTAINS SPA PUNE : MY EXPERIENCE

Stress, tiredness and fatigue seem to be common lifestyle issues we all face on a daily basics. Anything and everything that helps in combating these issues and making life more enjoyable are always a treat.
Spas today provide the exact solution to the stressed mind.

The Four Fountains Spa is India's largest chain of affordable spas. I visited the spa last week and had a wonderful experience and I am sharing it with you all today.

The Four Fountains Spa in Pune has six branches. And I chose to visit the Aundh branch. As soon as I entered the spa I was refreshed by the aroma. I was greeted by the courteous staff  and I was assisted for selecting the therapy I should go for. Although no doctor was present at time I visited. They provide a whole range of spa and therapies depending on your need from DE-STRESSING, DE-TOXIFICATION, BEAUTY and IMMUNITY. Its pretty elaborate and I liked the variety of services offered.
I liked the ambiance of the place it had dim lighting  around the reception area, it set the mood for therapy.

I was then assisted to my room. And I was delighted to see it was equipped with a shower in the same room, unlike a common one. (prior experience at another spa, I dont like a common bath )
As you can see there is a big massage table in the center of the room with a bath at the back end of the room. The lights were dim, and soft music was playing in the background. I had opted for a Swedish Massage with Wintergreen Oil. Wintergreen oil is known for having pain relieving qualities. The session was for 60 minutes.

The room was lit with dim lights, the lights were on for the purpose of taking photographs.

Another thing that I really liked was the pair of disposable under garments, which is very convenient and hygienic . My therapist left me to change and the session began with the massage on back  then legs and then moving on to hands and then to the front legs and then abdomen and then arms and upper chest.
 Another note worthy thing before the actual spa began was my therapist wiped my feet clean with a wet cloth, making sure it was clean.And then once the massage began she asked me if the pressure was okay for me or did I need more. Also another thing I liked she didnt talk much, and made sure I was relaxed at all times. There was soft music in the background which was very soothing. 
Time for me flew by, the massage was  very relaxing. I told my therapist that I have pain in the lower back and she attended to it and I could feel the difference by the end of  my session. She then showed me to the bath, which was small but comfortable and was well equipped with cold and hot water , and body wash and shampoo.
After I had changed I came down to the reception area and I was asked for my feedback and I was offered herbal tea. I was asked to fill a feedback form.
Before leaving I was given a complimentary foot cream that can be applied on the foot before going to bed.
I quiet like it.
I was feeling very relaxed and very sleepy after I came out.

DAY TIME SMOKEY EYES SUN KISSED MAKEUP LOTD/ FOTD

Hey eyeryone!
Just last week I was this conversation with a friend of mine and she asked me to do a sun kissed kind of look for the blog, and I said sure I would try one.
So here is my attempt at the sunkissed look but the problem is that by the time I got done with my look the sun had kissed good bye for the day, well almost that is why the pictures are in flash along with a couple I could manage in the sun..
For the eyes I went for a lighter and softer smokey eyes , which is appropriate for the day time.
Sun kissed look as far as my understanding goes requires lots and lots of bronzer that looks more like a natural tan and gives a healthy glow to the face. So here is my version. I shall do a detailed post with better lights in the pictures soon, I promise. For now do bear with this one. The first two pictures are in natural light.

I was not feeling the snake bitten n*de lips look so I changed it up.

RED LIPSTICKS FOR HOLIDAY 2013 MY PICKS

Hola, hola!!!
I had promised for this post some time back. I love Red lipsicks is no secret to those who read my blog. But I surprised even myself when I started digging out my red lipstick stash for this post. I have 6 of these now and I know atleast 3 more than I am lusting. But thankfully after doing this post I have convinced myself to not buy another Red Lipstick until I finish atleast one of this. I know not gonna happen. But still atleast it will stop me from buying the latest M.A.C retro matte ones.
So lets begin. I will go from lightest to darkest.

1.REVLON CANDY APPLE: I love this one. Okay this is going to be a common line for all the lipsticks. I love this because its my "no attention seeker" / "day time"Red lipstick. Its juicy and moisturizing and makes the lips look plump. I've had many asking me what lipstick it is. Here is the swatch and how it looks on me. I have reviewed it HERE

2. MAYBELLINE MAT 4: This is the latest addition to my stash. I bought it for the matte effect, but its not matte by any means. But I still love it ( get many compliments whenever I have applied this,, so gotta love it). Jokes apart, I like how it lifts up the entire face and it a perfect balance between blue and orange undertone. Its neither too dark not too light. Here is the  FOTD using this lipstick. 3. MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL LIPSTICK IN FATAL RED: I got this lipstick after Lisa Eldridge recommended it in one of her YOU TUBE videos. This and one another one from REVLON Matte called REALLY RED. Girls please if any of you know where I can buy it from in INDIA please let me know. I lost mine ( very sad face) and cant find it now anywhere to repurchase.
Anyways back to Fatal Red I like this one because its not a  very fiery red, next to other red lipsticks it looks more orange. It suits Indian complexion well. Read review HERE

4. COLORBAR HEARTS AND TARTS: I have recently reviewed this lipstick, and it honestly hasnt been that long since I have bought it. But its the mattest if that is even a word) red lipstick I have. Its not too drying on the lips and is perfect for my dry lips, although exfoliation is highly recommended.You can read the detailed review along with HERE

5. RIMMEL LASTING FINISH BY KATE MOSS NO. 11: This is the most "hatke" Red, its bordering on maroon but appears on the red side on my lips. 6. L'OREAL INFALLIBLE LIPSTICK IN REFINED RUBY: This is hands down the most beautiful RED lipstick I have or want, I love it over M.A.C Russian Red and Ruby Woo . Yes you heard it right. I have swatched it side by side with those MAC. lipsticks but still loved this one more that is why they havent made an entry yet into my vanity. HERE is the review and FOTD using this favorite.

TUTORIAL : INDIAN WEDDING / PARTY MAKEUP Gold and Teal TWO Makeup Looks

Hey eyeryone, This post is going to be a makeup tutorial for the ongoing holiday and wedding season. Gold is one universal color you can never go wrong with and its a winner across all skin tones. Gold never disappoints. I am biased towards this color, against my yellow undertone, the color gold works its magic wonderfully. So here is how to achieve this look.
Lets go...
For this look I have used my beloved NYX WICKED PALETTE, which I have reviewed HERE

1.Take the warm gold eyeshadow and apply it on the lids.

2. Next I took an angled brush and picked up NYX JUMBO EYEPENCIL in Black bean on the brush and applied it as the eyeliner . I have exaggerated the shape but you may keep it the way you like.

3. I took the beautiful teal eyeshadow and layered it on top of the black cream base , the color came out to be almost black, so I would suggest to use a colored base in teal color to show the color properly.

4. Line the lower lash line with gold eyeshadow in the inner half and the teal eyeshadow on the outer half. And add a shimmery highlight color under the brows.

5. Finish the look with mascara and you are done.

Now if long winged eyes are not your cup of tea you can just try the same look with different shape on the eyeliner.

Here is another option to wear the same colors.

1. Apply the gold eyeshadow all over the lids.

2, Taking the same NYX BLACK BEAN on an angled brush apply it as an eyeliner on top lashline and on lower lashline bringing the color only halfway in, on the rest of the inner half of the lower lashiline apply th gold eye shadow and smudge it .

3. Taking a deep brown eyeshadow on the blending brush apply it on the outer crease and blend it well. Then apply the teal color on the black bean cream eye base.

4. Add a shimmery highlight and pack up your top and bottom lashes with mascara and its done.

Here is the final look 

For the rest of the face I kept it pretty simple, I used the Maybelline dream liquid mousse foundation, reviewed here 

For concealer I have used the loreal crayon concealer reviewed here

For my lips I have used Maybelline's Moisture Extreme lipstick in Wines and Roses.

For the bronzer/blush I have used Physician's formula bronze booster glow reviewed here
