URBAN DECAY AMMO PALETTE EYE MAKEUP TUTORIAL

Hey everyone, I was just browsing through my SD card and saw the photos of this EOTD, I had said would be my next post and I totally forgot about it. So here it is my latest eye makeup of the day (EOTD), using the URBAN DECAY AMMO PALETTE. This palette has URBAN DECAY's best selling eye shadows and I love it because the colors are so well put together that they work across all skin tones.
Here are the pictures:

The Urban Decay Ammo Palette one of my cherished and prized (priced) possession. Its very versatile. For this look I used three colors from this palette.
LAST CALL: A PLUM MAUVE SHADE
SIN: A WARM ROSY CHAMPAGNE SHADE
POLYESTER BRIDE: A FROSTY WHITE EYESHADOW

To achieve this look
1. After priming my lids with Urban decay primer potion I applied SIN eyeshadow all over the lids  including the tear duct area and also on the inner third part of the lower lashline.
2.  Next I took LAST CALL on a fluffy blending brush  and applied it on the outer corner of the lids and slowly bringing it up to the crease ans blending it along.
3. I blended the LAST CALL eye shadow and brought it all the way in on the lids but using soft strokes so that it fades into a rosy pink color towards the inner corner. And taking a small pencil brush I applied the LAST CALL eyeshadow on the lower lash line smudged it.
4. Next I took the POLYESTER BRIDE EYESHADOW and used it as highlight under the brow bone.
5. Used MAYBELLINE GEL EYELINER and COLOSSAL MASCARA and false eye lashes from ARDELL, to finish up the look.

TUTORIAL : INDIAN WEDDING / PARTY MAKEUP Gold and Teal TWO Makeup Looks

Hey eyeryone, This post is going to be a makeup tutorial for the ongoing holiday and wedding season. Gold is one universal color you can never go wrong with and its a winner across all skin tones. Gold never disappoints. I am biased towards this color, against my yellow undertone, the color gold works its magic wonderfully. So here is how to achieve this look.
Lets go...
For this look I have used my beloved NYX WICKED PALETTE, which I have reviewed HERE

1.Take the warm gold eyeshadow and apply it on the lids.

2. Next I took an angled brush and picked up NYX JUMBO EYEPENCIL in Black bean on the brush and applied it as the eyeliner . I have exaggerated the shape but you may keep it the way you like.

3. I took the beautiful teal eyeshadow and layered it on top of the black cream base , the color came out to be almost black, so I would suggest to use a colored base in teal color to show the color properly.

4. Line the lower lash line with gold eyeshadow in the inner half and the teal eyeshadow on the outer half. And add a shimmery highlight color under the brows.

5. Finish the look with mascara and you are done.

Now if long winged eyes are not your cup of tea you can just try the same look with different shape on the eyeliner.

Here is another option to wear the same colors.

1. Apply the gold eyeshadow all over the lids.

2, Taking the same NYX BLACK BEAN on an angled brush apply it as an eyeliner on top lashline and on lower lashline bringing the color only halfway in, on the rest of the inner half of the lower lashiline apply th gold eye shadow and smudge it .

3. Taking a deep brown eyeshadow on the blending brush apply it on the outer crease and blend it well. Then apply the teal color on the black bean cream eye base.

4. Add a shimmery highlight and pack up your top and bottom lashes with mascara and its done.

Here is the final look 

For the rest of the face I kept it pretty simple, I used the Maybelline dream liquid mousse foundation, reviewed here 

For concealer I have used the loreal crayon concealer reviewed here

For my lips I have used Maybelline's Moisture Extreme lipstick in Wines and Roses.

For the bronzer/blush I have used Physician's formula bronze booster glow reviewed here

HOLIDAY GLAM LOOK 2013 : MAKEUP TUTORIAL LOTD FOTD

Hey everyone,
I am back with another makeup tutorial, seems like ages since I did one.
So this one is apt for the holiday season.  Wedding is season is on here so I think this look might come in handy during one those numerous parties and events as well. Hope you all like it. So without much ado lets just jump right into it.
Here is the look. Its in a collage format, do let me know which kind of tutorial you prefer. The collage one or separate step wise picture and description along.

So here is how I achieved this look:
1. Taking a shimmery beige eyeshadow apply it on the lids. I used "sin" eyeshadow from URBAN DECAY AMMO PALETTE.
2. Taking a warm orange/brown eyeshadow apply it on the crease bringing it halfway in. Blend it with a big fluffy blending brush.
3.Taking a matte medium brown eye shadow apply it on the outer one third of the lids.
4. Take more of the brown eyeshadow and bring in down to the lower lash line and blend it well.
5. Add a matte highlight shade under the brow bone and in the inner tear duct, apply your eyeliner.
6. Finish the look with curling your lashes and applying your favorite mascara, for more drama layer up your mascara.
For the lips I wanted to go dark, dark , dark. I am using Revlon super lustrous lipstick in BLACK CHERRY.  Red lipstick would go well with this look as well.

LORAC BAKED MATTE SATIN EYESHADOW IN SOCIAL REVIEW AND EOTD

Hello my beautiful friends,
I am back with yet another review from the LORAC cosmetics its their BAKED MATTE EYESHADOW in SOCIAL.
I love smokey eyes and love to try on different colors for eyeshadows different finishes on them be it matte, satin, frost, metallic or cream or shimmer. The possibilities are endless, but the finish I enjoy most working with is matte, they are the most versatile according to me.

So back to this eyeshadow. LORAC eyeshadows are a must have. I am so dying to try the PRO PALETTE.
So lets begin the review on these BAKED MATTE RANGE.
This particular range is now discontinued. I picked these off hautelook while I was in the USA for $2 a piece, wasnt it a steal? I wish I could have picked up all the colors..but they went out of stock so soon...I have 3 more in this range which I shall review later.

COLOR: SOCIAL is a true matte medium brown color. LORAC SOCIAL is the perfect color for the crease to blend out the darker browns and blacks for the smokey eyes, and on its own too its a perfect brown for all over the lids. I love this color just too much.

TEXTURE: The TEXTURE of SOCIAL is what surprised me the most. Generally matte eye shadows have a tendency to be a bit rough and  not blend effortlessly, and its not very difficult for it  to look muddy. But SOCIAL totally surprised me. Its smooth, soft and easy to blend.

PIGMENTATION: Being my first baked eyeshadow purchase I didnt know what to really expect in terms of pigmentation, like it would be different from the regular ones and if so how different and in which context. Ultimately what I deduced is that they have a slightly different formula and baked eyeshadows can be used both wet and dry. Although I havent used this eyeshadow wet. The pigmentation on the eyeshadow in the dry form is superb, never felt the need to use it wet.

STAYING POWER: LORAC products dont disappoint in the staying power department. These dont budge at all. No creasing of any sorts. These eyeshadow really stay.

Here is a look I created using this eyeshadow. I have used the same eyeshadow to fill in my eye brows as well. Works great you just need to set it with brow gel or you can even use clear mascara.

EOTD SMOKEY EYES USING COASTAL SCENTS 88 ORIGINAL PALETTE

Hi everyone!
I am doing a quick and very short post on this EOTD I created using the COASTAL SCENTS ORIGINAL 88 PALETTE. I have created a collage with step wise turotrial. If you want I can do a write up as well. Just let me know.
So here is the look.

 Here are the colors marked in numbers as I used them.
1.Is for all over the lids.
2.On and over the crease.
3.On the outer corners of the eyes.
4.HIghlight shade on the tear duct and under the brow bone.

Is a super short blog post. But I shall do the write up if any one wants. Just please let me know.

INDIAN FESTIVE TIME EYE MAKEUP EOTD

Hello everyone!
Navratri has begun!!! For the uninitiated, its an Indian Festival which celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over the devil Mahushasura.
The mythology aside, its also time for a lot of celebration and festivities. There is a lot of garba and dandiya (dance forms) involved along with lot of strolling around and roaming about with friends and family and indulging in the yummylicious food!!!
Yum Yum...missing Kolkata. Its the best time of the year according to me to be in Kolkata.
Okay well this post is in regards to the ongoing festivities and also many more to come.
For this FOTD/LOTD  I have used copper, gold kind of shades. This makeup will compliment well with Indian tradtional wear, and its perfect makeup for the INDIAN Festive Season
Hope you all like it and incorporate it somehow and find it useful.
So lets begin!
1. I primed my lids NYX EYESHADOW BASE in skin tone, to negate any pigmentation on the lids. And taking a flat eyeshadow brush and using patting motion I applied the brown copper eye shadow on the outer half of the lids and also on the lower lash line(outer half only).

2. Next I used a orange based gold eyeshadow on the lids with the same eyeshadow brush and applied it on the lower lash line( inner half).

3.Next taking a matte brown eyeshadow I applied it on the crease to darken it.

4.Next I applied a shimmery gold eyeshadow on the tear duct, and lightly blended the dark brown on the crease. For the highlight I used a matte beige/white color eyeshadow, but you can go all out and use a shimmery highlight as well.

5. Applied a black gel eye liner and mascara on top and bottom lashes. Its done.

Hope you all like this and give it a try.
Here is the FOTD. I used a burnt orange blush on the cheeks, and for the lips I used an apricot lipstick and topped it off with a coral lip gloss from NYX. I shall update the post will the details of the products used soon. I promise, but I just wanted to get this post up soon.
I gave a  little INDIAN twist to the FOTD by using Indian jewelry. How do you guys like it?
