REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK IN BLACK CHERRY 477 REVIEW

Hey everyone, today I am going to review the best and my most awesome and favorite shade for this time of the year its the REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK IN BLACK CHERRY.

PRICED at INR 525 these lipsticks are readily available in INDIA. Yippie!!! There are around 40 shades in the super lustrous range and exactly as the name say they are lustrous!

REVLON BLACK CHERRY is a deep berry color lipstick which instantly brightens up the face. It looks almost black in the tube but thankfully its not so black.

The pigmentation is very nice, one swipe of the lipstick gives a nice cherry color on the lips, and if you want to build it up to the full extent of a dark berry look you can.
With two swipes you can get full on dark berry lips. Perfect perfect for the winter season.
The lipstick does have a sheen to it, its not matte, but if you do want  matte look you can dab a tissue on the lips and its becomes matte. The texture is semi sheen. The lipstick is creamy and is not dry at all, but if you have chapped lips its always good to exfoliate.

The color is pigmented and the formula creamy and rich so it all adds to the staying power. It easily stays upto 5 hours on my lips when it starts fading after meals. One complaint I have that this lipstick bleeds, while lighter colors are more forgiving than such darker colors so I always always apply this lipstick over a lip liner. But it leaves a beautiful stain on the lips, as it fades evenly.

ELF BLUSH BRUSH REVIEW 4 IN 1 BRUSH

Hey everyone,
For today's post I am going to be doing a quick review on the E.L.F. cosmetics studio BLUSH brush.
The reason I am reviewing this brush is to show you the versatility of this brush. I f you have something similar in your vanity you can use it for multiple purposes.
Lets jump right in..

PRICED at $3 USD it is as cheap as they come.

ELF brushes are good quality brushes and great option for those on a budget or the ones who are starting out into makeup and trying their hands at different products without burning a hole in the pocket. 

The bristles of the brush are very soft and the brush doesnt bleed on washing. I have been using it for two years now and it still looks like new. The brush does not shed while washing, that is a major plus.

Here are the three different ways I use this brush. Not all at once though.

1. The BLUSH brush is quiet unique in the shape, its tapered on the  sides and comes up at a point on the top. It is precisely this shape that makes it ideal for contouring and highlighting. 

The tapered shape makes it easy to allow to place the product exactly how to want it and since its round and fluffy as well it is easier to blend away the harsh contour lines with this brush. Hold the brush sideways and apply the product.

2. Same goes for highlighting. I like how this brush is not too dense to pick up a lot of product and not too light either. Its has the perfect balance. So if I use it as a highlighter I just pick up some product on the tip of the brush and apply the highlighter and lightly blend it.

3.You may also use it to set your POWDER BRUSH, to set the foundation and concealer. Its just the perfect size neither too big nor too small. I often time use this brush as a setting brush or my loose powder specially to set the concealer. Just lay the brush flat on the loose powder and the tapered shape is perfect to apply it on the under eye area. 

4.This brush can also be used as a BLUSH BRUSH for powder brushes. Just lay the brush flat on the brush as against on the sides. This is the most obvious use...as it is indeed a BLUSH brush.

FINAL WORDS:

ELF makes some great quality brushes and you can check them  HERE . The blush brush is a multi functional  good quality brush at dirt cheap price.  

I wish these were readily available in India.

MAYBELLINE FATAL RED 530 LIPSTICK REVIEW AND LOTD

Hello friends, I am back after a long long time and I am back with this Maybelline red lipstick called Fatal Red. First things first, I really missed all of you and this beauty world, though I was not completely out of touch, I was some what active on Facebook. I went to visit my parents and took some time off blogging and I came back and realized I had my camera there and then Diwali and then I was not keeping well, am still not in perfect health...anyhoo..I am back now and here is my post on the most beloved budget friendly RED LIPSTICK ever...its the most talked about red lipstick ...Fatal Red.
Now you all know by this time I have a weak spot for Red lipsticks and smokey eyes. This lipstick has been in  my collection for a long time....I have enjoyed this a lot, though its not my favorite. But its a good budget lipstick to have in your collection.. Why?? Read on.

To begin with its PRICED at INR349. or $7.49 USD . I would say its a good budget lipstick from a drugstore brand and it easily available.

COLOR: Well to me its really very difficult to describe colors in general, and top it off with so many shades in the same color....to the best of my ability MAYBELLINE FATAL RED is a true red color its not blue neither is it orange based, its just red. What I love about this lipstick is that depending on the lip liner I choose underneath it I can manipulate the redness of the lipstick.

TEXTURE AND PIGMENTATION: FATAL RED is a creamy smooth lipstick. It glides on the lips effortlessly. The formula is creamy although not buttery as Revlon Lip butters. The pigmentation on the lipstick is somewhere in between, its decently pigmented, one swipe and you do get the color full on, but I would say one swipe it doesnt make it completely opaque. You do need two swipes to get the full effect, but it also makes it wearable during the day time.

STAYING POWER: Maybelline color sensational range lipsticks are not known for their staying power and same holds true for this lipstick. It barely stays for 3 hours at a maximum and then starts to fade, being a pigmented lipstick it doesnt completely wear off though. FATAL RED stays put a good three hours. 

OVERALL VERDICT: I am in love with lipstick , its a no fuss completely gorgeous red lipstick. And for someone who is venturing into the red lipstick world, its a perfect start. The staying power could have been better, but he Maybelline doesnt claim it to be a long lasting lipstick either. So overall I would give this lipstick a thumps up and go ahead and recommend it to all and sundry!! Here is how it looks on me.

EOS LIP BALM IN POMEGRANATE RASPBERRY REVIEW

Warm cozy greetings to all my beautiful friends, winters are sure approaching its time to take out those body butters, body milk, lip balms and get on with the day. As lazy as I am I find all this very laborious...I know I know...I am admitting I am super lazy alright.
So as I mentioned I am pretty lazy and I dont have a choice during winters since I am blessed with super dry skin to use and apply lip balms and body butters. What does the trick for me is the cute packaging. Yes I am telling you if it looks cute and pretty enough I might actually pick it up and use it.

So we are talking about one such cute lip balm that is very very popular its the EOS LIP BALM. And the one I am reviewing today is pomegranate raspberry. POMEGRANATE RASPBERRY is a very popular variant indeed. I have earlier used the lemon one which comes in a yellow container.
What the product claims:
In a smooth sphere for easy application that precisely glides on lips, this lip balm has broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. This lip balm contains Vitamin E, Shea butter and jojoba oil to keep your lips kissably smooth.

What I love about the EOS LIP BALM: First off I right away love the unique packaging. See how cute it looks. The lemon one being yellow and given the shape it has it looked like a cute lemon. Its packaged in a small oval shaped container. I also love the size of the product, one stroke and you cover the entire lip.

Okay so the good and bad about the packaging is that its easy to locate in a humongous sized handbag( I love my totes) but its not easy to slide and keep in you jean/trouser pocket.

EOS LIP BALMS also have spf, which is always a plus that makes it even more likeable.

Overall I love how it feels on the lips. I must say I use lip balms only because I have to...but EOS LIP BALM revamped it for me, I love using this one all the time. Its not very heavy feeling on the lips. It has a mild scent which I like as its not overpowering. This one smells like bee wax, which I like .

I have truly enjoyed using these EOS lip balms and will continue to use them in the future, I havent found a replacment for these. Not that I am looking either, I am a 100% satisfied with these EOS LIP BALM. Do check these out if you get a chance.

MAYBELLINE INSTANT AGE REWIND ERASER DARK CIRCLE TREATMENT CONCEALER : HONEY REVIEW

I am so thrilled for this post as I get to share and review for you guys a beloved concealer its the MAYBELLINE INSTANT AGE REWIND ERASER DARK CIRCLE TREATMENT  CONCEALER.
I have horrendous under eye dark circles and heavily pigmented lids. I dont mean to scare anybody but yes dark circles have been my biggest concern, and honestly trying to make the concealer work its magic on my eyes has also been a struggle. It took me a while to get the application of concealer perfectly.
So imagine my happiness when I find a concealer that truly covers well and is easy to apply and does the work beautifully.
So on to the review,
MAYBELLINE Instant Age Rewind is not available on the Maybelline counters in India but its available online for INR 459 and $8.99 USD.

PACKAGING wise it comes in a twist up tube with a  round sponge tip which glides perfectly under the eyes.  So each time you want to apply the concealer you just twist it up a little the product comes up on the sponge and you basically just swipe it over your dark circles and on to your lids for covering up the dark circle and pigmentation on the lids.

TEXTURE AND PIGMENTATION: The formula is creamy and smooth and it blends very well into the skin. Its a full coverage concealer, so I would advice to use it sparingly. The formula is on the liquid side than on the creamier side but its definitely not runny.

APPLICATION: For the first use you will need to turn the tube in the direction of the arrows made few times, and then you will see the product on the sponge. Noe you dont need to use any brush or your finger, just gently swipe it under your eyes and then using a dabbing motion with your finger just tap the product into the skin, do not use back and forth motion to blend it. With concealer always remember you need to dab it and not blend it.

This concealer blends like a dream and the formula is creamy though not to the point where it turns oily. And I have dry skin so it works perfectly for me its moisturizing not drying. It conceals perfectly. It had even won some beauty award and is very popular in the beauty community. I myself got it three years back and have been hooked on to it since. I always buy two of these, one always as a back up.

LORAC BAKED MATTE SATIN EYESHADOW IN SOCIAL REVIEW AND EOTD

Hello my beautiful friends,
I am back with yet another review from the LORAC cosmetics its their BAKED MATTE EYESHADOW in SOCIAL.
I love smokey eyes and love to try on different colors for eyeshadows different finishes on them be it matte, satin, frost, metallic or cream or shimmer. The possibilities are endless, but the finish I enjoy most working with is matte, they are the most versatile according to me.

So back to this eyeshadow. LORAC eyeshadows are a must have. I am so dying to try the PRO PALETTE.
So lets begin the review on these BAKED MATTE RANGE.
This particular range is now discontinued. I picked these off hautelook while I was in the USA for $2 a piece, wasnt it a steal? I wish I could have picked up all the colors..but they went out of stock so soon...I have 3 more in this range which I shall review later.

COLOR: SOCIAL is a true matte medium brown color. LORAC SOCIAL is the perfect color for the crease to blend out the darker browns and blacks for the smokey eyes, and on its own too its a perfect brown for all over the lids. I love this color just too much.

TEXTURE: The TEXTURE of SOCIAL is what surprised me the most. Generally matte eye shadows have a tendency to be a bit rough and  not blend effortlessly, and its not very difficult for it  to look muddy. But SOCIAL totally surprised me. Its smooth, soft and easy to blend.

PIGMENTATION: Being my first baked eyeshadow purchase I didnt know what to really expect in terms of pigmentation, like it would be different from the regular ones and if so how different and in which context. Ultimately what I deduced is that they have a slightly different formula and baked eyeshadows can be used both wet and dry. Although I havent used this eyeshadow wet. The pigmentation on the eyeshadow in the dry form is superb, never felt the need to use it wet.

STAYING POWER: LORAC products dont disappoint in the staying power department. These dont budge at all. No creasing of any sorts. These eyeshadow really stay.

Here is a look I created using this eyeshadow. I have used the same eyeshadow to fill in my eye brows as well. Works great you just need to set it with brow gel or you can even use clear mascara.

LORAC EYESHADOW IN GARNET REVIEW

Hey everyone!
Today I am going to be reviewing the LORAC cosmetics eyeshadow in GARNET.
 Just a little back track to the last post I did, I used this eyeshadow. And I love this color so so so much.

Okies so let me tell you a bit about LORAC. Its a high end brand started by a makeup artist whose name is CAROL SHAW. Fun fact LORAC is named after CAROL...its just CAROL spelled back wards! Its pronounced as LA-ROCK not LO-RACK . Guilty!!
Anyhoo... lets begin the review.

This eyeshadow is a part of the famous famous LORAC PRO PALETTE.
PRICE: Well when I bought it they were for $19 a piece, and now they are for $6 for 1.7 gms of product. Can you believe it. Go grab it now.

COLOR: GARNET is a medium copper eye shadow with red undertones and is almost metallic, not too reflective not too frosty either.

PIGMENTATION: GARNET is insanely pigmented, you need very little product to get the color pay off. The swatch here is a single swipe. 

TEXTURE: It goes on smooth and is not one bit chalky. I did not face any issues with the fall outs. And it goes on smooth and blends easily. These are meant to be used as wet or dry. When you want to intesify the look or use any of these eyeshadows as a liner you can use them on a damp brush.

STAYING POWER: I never apply eye shadows without a primer, and when I put this to test (with an eyeshadow primer) well it lasted well over 9 hours, I had to take my makeup off, but the eye makeup was intact. I'm sure it would have lasted even more. Staying power is amazing. By the end of the day there was no fading and no creasing what so ever. I am not kidding.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

I would say I am totally impressed with the LORAC eyeshadow GARNET, it made its way into the PRO palette is proof enough of its versatility and goodness. Its insanely pigmented, you need very little product at a time, it goes on smooth and staying power is beyond amazing.It blends like a dream, so easy to work with and the color is complimentary on everyone.  Here is the EOTD I did using the GARNET eyeshadow on the outer half of the lids.

COVERGIRL LIP PERFECTION LIPSTICK IN ETERNAL 350 : REVIEW AND SWATCH

Hey everyone!
So officially we are into the fall season and hence most of the posts are going to cater to the colors and looks appropriate for the season in sync with the latest trend ( not really).
But yes most of the looks and reviews will center around the mood of the season. So this post is on COVERGIRL lipstick which I know is going to get a lot of use this season. Its called ETERNAL, and like the name suggests the color is an eternally flattering.

PRICE: $6.99 USD, and an outrageous price of 1600 INR on snapdeal.

PACKAGING: I love the packaging on this lipstick, the metallic feeling gunmetal color in a square shaped bullet fives this lipstick luxurious feel like that of a high end lipstick. At the end of the bullet there is a transparent casing through which you can easily see the color.

COLOR: Ooo..The color is a deep fuchsia with blue undertones bordering on magenta and yet not quiet so dark.
If you want get into the fall mood and are not ready to dab the darkest/goth lipstick there is its a good lipstick to start with. Its still bold and seeks attention though not screams attention.

TEXTURE: This lipstick is creamy rich and glides on the lips effortlessly. Its on the creamier side but doesnt slip, though you will notice some bleeding if you apply it without a lipliner. So a quick tip to avoid bleeding with this lipstick would be to line your lips first.

PIGMENTATION: Its insanely pigmented. Just one swipe gives you a perfectly opaque finish. All the lip swatches in this post are just one swipe. You can definitely build up the color as deep as you desire.

STAYING POWER AND PERFORMANCE:  I have compared these lipsticks to the Maybelline colorsensational range earlier , the texture and pigmentation is very comparable along with the price range( in USA).

But where these lipsticks score over Maybelline's are in their staying power. Where Maybelline disappears after 3 hours me these stay a  good 4 to 5 hours before they start to fade.

So overall I love this lipstick, I was ecstatic to find COVERGIRL products on Snapdeal, but the prices are such downer. Its a drugstore brand lipstick and I can neither justif nor suggest anyone to spend INR1600 on this one. But if you can shop from the USA, then its worth a try. I am certain you will love it.
