COVERGIRL LIP PERFECTION LIPSTICK IN ETERNAL 350 : REVIEW AND SWATCH

Hey everyone!
So officially we are into the fall season and hence most of the posts are going to cater to the colors and looks appropriate for the season in sync with the latest trend ( not really).
But yes most of the looks and reviews will center around the mood of the season. So this post is on COVERGIRL lipstick which I know is going to get a lot of use this season. Its called ETERNAL, and like the name suggests the color is an eternally flattering.

PRICE: $6.99 USD, and an outrageous price of 1600 INR on snapdeal.

PACKAGING: I love the packaging on this lipstick, the metallic feeling gunmetal color in a square shaped bullet fives this lipstick luxurious feel like that of a high end lipstick. At the end of the bullet there is a transparent casing through which you can easily see the color.

COLOR: Ooo..The color is a deep fuchsia with blue undertones bordering on magenta and yet not quiet so dark.
If you want get into the fall mood and are not ready to dab the darkest/goth lipstick there is its a good lipstick to start with. Its still bold and seeks attention though not screams attention.

TEXTURE: This lipstick is creamy rich and glides on the lips effortlessly. Its on the creamier side but doesnt slip, though you will notice some bleeding if you apply it without a lipliner. So a quick tip to avoid bleeding with this lipstick would be to line your lips first.

PIGMENTATION: Its insanely pigmented. Just one swipe gives you a perfectly opaque finish. All the lip swatches in this post are just one swipe. You can definitely build up the color as deep as you desire.

STAYING POWER AND PERFORMANCE:  I have compared these lipsticks to the Maybelline colorsensational range earlier , the texture and pigmentation is very comparable along with the price range( in USA).

But where these lipsticks score over Maybelline's are in their staying power. Where Maybelline disappears after 3 hours me these stay a  good 4 to 5 hours before they start to fade.

So overall I love this lipstick, I was ecstatic to find COVERGIRL products on Snapdeal, but the prices are such downer. Its a drugstore brand lipstick and I can neither justif nor suggest anyone to spend INR1600 on this one. But if you can shop from the USA, then its worth a try. I am certain you will love it.

COLORBAR VELVET MATTE LIPSTICK IN HEARTS AND TARTS REVIEW

Today is a RED HOT LIPSTICK KIND OF DAY.
 I was feeling tired today and I knew just what I wanted to perk up my spirits an amazing RED LIPSTICK. I love red red red! It is truly said that there is a red lipstick for every woman! And I truly feel that every girl should absolutely and truly own one red lipstick (at least).

Even if you feel you cant carry it off just buy one and try it on. Apply it just at home get comfortable with it and then when you will be showered with compliments you will yourself wear it outside with all the confidence in the world. COLORBAR VELVET MATTE LIPSTICK is the perfect budget lipstick to start off with.
Today I am reviewing the lipstick HEARTS AND TARTS from the VELVET MATTE range.
I am falling "Dangerously in Love" with this range.
Okay so lets begin with the details on PACKAGING ,it comes packaged in a silver cylindrical bullet with a transparent cap and on the other end you can see the color of the lipstick which helps identifying the shade of lipstick. So full marks on packaging.
Priced at INR 275 These are a steal! But these are now almost discontinued. So grab your favorite ones while you still can.
Hearts And Tarts is a beautiful red which is on the darker side and not a bright red. The color is a winner across all the complexions, its going to look good on everyone.

The lipstick glides on effortlessly on the lips, being a matte finish lipstick I expected it to be dry, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found it to be so smooth and non drying on the lips. It is definitely not a moisturizing lipstick (its not possible for it to be matte and hydrating at the same time) so its better to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying this if you have dry and chapped lips. I found it a tad bit more drier than the other lipstick I have from this range, Over the Top.

Pigmentation wise too I was pretty impressed with the lipstick, one swipe and your lips are covered. You get an opaque pigmentation only in one swipe, although I personally like to build up the color for a darker looking red lip.

The staying power on this lipstick is pretty decent. It easily stays on my lips for 5 plus hours without fading and bleeding and also fades out evenly and despite having dry lips it didnt settle onto the fine lines.
What more can I ask for. It delivered more than I asked it to.
Its a lovely color and the best budget lipstick with high end quality! Go for it girls you wont be disappointed.

MY MLBB LIPSTICK MAYBELLINE PARK AVE. PEACH :LOTD AND REVIEW

Hello everyone! I was going through my lipstick stash arranging it swatching them all, its total bliss I tell you. And during this session that I rediscovered my MLBB (My Lips But Better)Lipstick again. I forgot all about it .I had stopped using it and remembered how much I used to like it. So here is a quick review on the same.
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks are the best budget lipsticks.
Cute packaging in a square silver bullet with a deep maroon cap with the name on the other end.
These lipsticks are reasonably priced at INR 375.

This color is exactly as is described its a peach soft coral shade. Perfect for everyday use. Its a no fuss lipstick for me.

Sadly it doesnt last too long , after 3 hours its completely off my lips but its creamy in texture and glides on the lips effortlessly.

Its hydrating on the lips and is very light weight, you wont feel you have lipstick on.

The color is on the sheer side but is buildable. I like how it looks soft and sweet on the lips. Not too light not too dark, perfect to use for everyday and perfect for even darker smokey looks.

REVIEW MISS CLAIRE SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM 15 JUST LIKE THE NYX LIP CREAMS

Hello everyone,
For this post I am doing a quick review on this brand MISS CLAIRE, that I dont know much about, but I just spotted these cosmetics from the brand at an accessories shop at the PHOENIX Mall in Pune.
Now I am absolutely crazy about the NYX lip creams the matte ones, all of them are so buttery smooth and long lasting and cheap ( at least in the USA). I bought them during an offer for $3 a pop so somehow even though I love them I can bring myself to pay 650 INR  for them in INDIA.
Anyhoo, when I saw these my heart skipped a beat! for once I thought its NYX until ofcourse I glanced at the brand name.

But the colors were so pretty and they even had testers!
So I decided to pick one. I eventually picked two, wanted to pick more but somehow controlled myself as I didn't know much about this brand so I thought I would do some R&D once I get home! BTW I also picked a couple of lip liners which were filthy cheap. Haven't tested them out yet, so the final verdict on them has to wait.

Back to this one, these were priced at INR 195 which I knew they were overpriced. I confirmed with my friend in Kolkata once I got back there these are sold for INR 170. So yes not a major difference.
The packaging is also similar to the NYX matte lip creams onl the texture on the cap is more velvety feeling than plastic. other than that it comes in a standard clear plastic tube with a sponge tip applicator, so you can easily see the color.

The color range impressed me , I didn't see nay reds though, I was shopping in a hurry so I dont know whether or not they carry it. Sorry!
But there were lots of nud*s OMG they were fantastic. And more deeper plums and corals, I was drooling.
I picked up the number 15 they are not named just numbered, which didnt gain any marks for me.
Its kind of a deep plum shade which is totally matte and buttery smooth in application.

The pigmentation is also superb, one swipe gives a decent opaque cover.
The staying power is also similar to the NYX  lip creams, they stay a good 6 hours on me, even with meals with light feathering of course.

But they are so matte that they get a bit drying so its best to apply them over exfoliated lips so they dont settle too much into the fine lines. They do if you have terribly chapped lips like mine and if you are as lazy as me to not apply a lip balm!

I am loving these so far no complaints other than the fact that they are drying on the lips.

Will be back with another review on the lighter shade I picked up.

YSL BLUSH RADIANCE IN NO.1 REVIEW AND SWATCH

I was gone for around 10 days and it was an unexpected break from the beauty world. It feels good to be back and I sorely missed all you guys.
So getting back to this post I shall be reviewing the YSL BLUSH RADIANCE IN NO.1.
YSL is such a luxury and so definitely all its products also make you feel that way. I chose to review this blush from their range called BLUSH RADIANCE.

PRICE: $USD 45. INR 3127.

PACKAGING: I am a sucker for packaging I cant even begin to describe, so many times I have loved a product but left it because I didnt like the packaging. But no such thing here. YSL in an experience. Its gold packaging is so regal feeling.

Put the product out of the gold colored packaging and VOILA you have a cute velvet pouch, encased within which is your RADIANCE along with a small blush brush, which although is not very useful but is indeed the softest brush I have come across. The gold metal feeling like compact case is quiet sturdy and locks up tight so it is indeed travel friendly.

COLOR, TEXTURE AND EVERYTHING ELSE:
On first look its pure bliss, there are two colors in four squares which all go pretty well together.One look at the product and you know its soft and smooth. Its a light coral color with brown toned nude. The blush has visible shimmer but they are so soft and finely milled they impart a subtle glow on the cheeks after application. Its a pretty comapct quad with the two diagonal shades being matte and two being shimmery.

 TEXTURE:  Its so smooth and almost feels creamy, well its not cream but powder. But ever so smooth and blends like a dream. The finish it leaves on the skin is very natural looking, and this particular shade just warms up the face so perfectly. This shade is best suited for fair to medium skinned beauties.

The blush is so light weight and blends into the skin so well, it doesnt budge from its place for hours and hours. It easily lasts up to 7-8 hours. It might well stay beyond that, but I havent worn it above that time frame.

APPLICATION: I just swirl the blush brush into all the colors and pat off the excess product, you really dont need a lot product as it is densely pigmented and a little goes a long way.

OVERALL VERDICT: TWO THUMBS UP to this beauty. Definitely recommend it and gonna pick up other colors.

COVER GIRL LIPSTICK IN 260 HEAVENLY REVIEW

I know I have been slacking again with my posts but honestly I was kind of blocked as to what should I put up next on my blog. And I even did a few makeup looks( which will follow this post) but I was just not doing any justice in the writing department..See  I am blabbering away again...
So for this post I decided to stick to a lipstick review I have been wanting to share for some time.
COVERGIRL is a USA based cosmetic brand and is most famous for their mascaras among other things in the beauty circles. I happened to try and like few of their lipsticks so I am  reviewing one for you its called heavenly. Heavenly is a light pink/peach shade appropriate for daily wear.

PRICED at USD $6.99 this lipstick comes packaged in a gun metal kind of chrome finish lipstick tube.
Once can see the color of the actual product at the base of the lipstick which I like, its always good when you can see the color without having to open it.
And it snaps shut securely making it very travel friendly.

TEXTURE wise this lipstick is creamy and glides on smoothly over the lips and gives an even coverage on the lips doesnt settle into the fine lines of the lips, and Covergirl claims it to be very moisturizing and nourishing for the lips. It is indeed very moisturizing on the lips, but as always for girls with very dry and chapped lips I would recommend exfoliation or at-least prior moisturizing of the lips. It doesnt substitute a lip balm.

PIGMENTATION of this lipstick really impressed me, I need not go over twice with this lip color over my lips to get an opaque finish, and on top of it the lipstick stayed on my lips longer than I expected. A good four hours and that too it left a stain on the lips thereby not completely being washed away, unlike the Maybelline  ones.

So overall I am pretty impressed with this lipstick. Heavenly is a shade which is wearable on a daily basis but would definitely wash out the duskier beauties, for a day time look, it can very well be paired as a n*de shade on a smokey look. Here is how this looks on me without and with flash respectively.

MAYBELLINE LIPSTICK IN VIVID ROSE 875

Today I am going to be reviewing the MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATONAL VIVIDS LIPSTICK IN VIVID ROSE.
PRICE :USD $7.49.

I am sooooo in love with lipstick, I cant express enough.
Earlier I was having a love affair with HOT PLUM which I have reviewed HERE , here is a sneak peak of the color, in case you didnt read that post.

Back to VIVID ROSE.

AAAAHHHH.....I love love love it, its packaged in a silver lipstick tube with a neon red plastic cap on it,you cant see the color from the tube but the bottom of the tube shows the color clearly on the label  and when you open it...all you do is look at it.

Its so difficult for me to describe this color. Its like a rosy fuchsia shade with coral undertone, its like muted fuchsia lipstick. The color is exuberant and different from anything I own.

These lipsticks are creamy and rich in texture. They glide on smoothly, and make your lips look supple and full. They leave a satin finish on the lips almost shiny but not quiet so. They are comfortable and moisturizing  on the lips, and you wouldnt complain if you have dry lips too, which is a major plus for me.

The lipstick is opaque in the pigmentation. One coat and you are good. The lasting power on these lipsticks is more than the regular lipsticks in the COLOR SENSATIONAL line. They last a good 4 hours and even after they wear off  they leave a stain behind, and my lips felt moist.

There is nothing to not like in these lipstick. I wish to get my hands on all the lipsticks in this range when they launch in INDIA. Hoping its soon. You have got to love these lipsticks they are just too good to be true but threy are.
