NYX POWDER BLUSH IN PINCHED REVIEW

Hey everyone!
Today's post is going to be dedicated to blushing. No, no I am not blushing over anything, just reviewing the NYX POWDER BLUSH in PINCHED. I am a big fan of NYX cream blushes, and had been reading great bit of reviews on their powder blushes too, so I decided to finally get myself one. I wanted to buy the blush called Desert Rose but that was out of stock so my next choice was this PINCHED.
Judging by the name I thought in my mind the color should be pink as in when some one pinches your cheeks how pink they should look that kind of pink..Okay thats what I thought, silly me you know!
Anyhoo I got his one for $5.99 USD or in INDIA its priced at INR 650.
The packaging is a square shaped plastic container with a transparent lid so you can easily see the color. It doesnt come with a blush brush or a mirror.

There is a wide variety of shades available fromt his range around 27. That is one too many girls!
So coming back to this one. The color at first glance looks all pinky pink and I am like no come on! Not another one. But I was wrong and was glad I glad I was wrong.

Its basically a pink blush with coral hues and golden shimmers, which are finely milled.

I have to be honest though it was not love at first sight, but this blush grew on me.
When I swatched it and blended it I could see the shimmers on my hand which I am not a big fan of but on further blending I could see the shimmers spreading evenly.

And unlike blushes its not super pigmented, which I like actually, when it comes to blushes I prefer them to be of okay pigmentation with build-able color of-course. It makes it a hassle rather to be so conscious while applying a blush. So I am glad this one is decently pigmented .

For application I would suggest to use a light hand to evenly distribute the shimmer.
The shimmer is not so much an issue with this blush, it doesnt have too much sparkly shimmer, it rather gives a glow to the face.

The staying power is okay it stays put on me for a good 4 to 5 hours and if I apply it over a cream blush then I am set for the day!

So overall its a thumps up for me on this beautiful more pink less peach blush!

NYX Cream Blush In GLOW Review and Swatches

Hello my lovelies..
I am so enjoying this week as I'm getting to blog regularly, makes me happy to be involved with my blog and being regular with it too.
With fall knocking on the door, its time to take out those cream blushes, dust them off(they arent really dusty). Although I use cream blushes all through the year, just that during summer and monsoon months I add powder blushes on top of them to avoid any hot mess on my face.
So for this post I am sharing my most beloved shade of cream blushes from NYX its called GLOW.

PRICE : INR 650.
Its a pretty pretty light pinkish shade which is not too bright.
The packaging is quiet standard it comes in a round case with a clear plastic case on the top to help identify the shade. The body is made of plastic too. It doesnt com with any sort of applicator or mirror. The packaging is quiet sturdy it doesnt open up as easily and I have traveled with it, never faced an issues.

On the back is the name and a full list of ingredients.

You open up the case and your face has to instantly light up seeing the pretty pink color, its not in your face pink rather a pink with coral hues. Its a beautiful color which makes you happy just looking at it.

Texture wise this blush is extremely and I mean extremely CREAMY, it would have done without being so so so creamy. During summers its a good idea to store them in a cool place even refrigerate them if need be.
But the creamy texture also enhances its ability to be super blendable.

Now the most important aspect of this blush where you need to tread carefully is the Pigmentation.
Its freaking superbly pigmented, even the lightest touch can give you a handful to blend. If you are new  to cream blushes you need to practice with this baby before wearing it out. Test it out a couple of times just to make sure you arent over doing it. Once you get the hang of it you are never going to want to use another blush.

Application wise it depends on what you are comfortable with, you may use your fingers or a stippling brush.
I prefer the latter, I use a stippling brush to apply this brush on my cheeks because this brush picks up less product and also importantly it distributes the color evenly on the cheeks as opposed to fingers.

You can ofcourse use fingers, I'm just not very good at blending it with my fingers.

Once you blend this blush it gives a glow literally to your face sans any shimmer. I just love it so so so much.
I have dry skin so I can use it more, if you have oily skin you can always layer it up with a powder blush. Doing so also insures the longevity of the blush.
On it own I would say it stays put for upto 4 hours in hot weather conditions, otherwise it stays on longer.

YSL BLUSH RADIANCE IN NO.1 REVIEW AND SWATCH

I was gone for around 10 days and it was an unexpected break from the beauty world. It feels good to be back and I sorely missed all you guys.
So getting back to this post I shall be reviewing the YSL BLUSH RADIANCE IN NO.1.
YSL is such a luxury and so definitely all its products also make you feel that way. I chose to review this blush from their range called BLUSH RADIANCE.

PRICE: $USD 45. INR 3127.

PACKAGING: I am a sucker for packaging I cant even begin to describe, so many times I have loved a product but left it because I didnt like the packaging. But no such thing here. YSL in an experience. Its gold packaging is so regal feeling.

Put the product out of the gold colored packaging and VOILA you have a cute velvet pouch, encased within which is your RADIANCE along with a small blush brush, which although is not very useful but is indeed the softest brush I have come across. The gold metal feeling like compact case is quiet sturdy and locks up tight so it is indeed travel friendly.

COLOR, TEXTURE AND EVERYTHING ELSE:
On first look its pure bliss, there are two colors in four squares which all go pretty well together.One look at the product and you know its soft and smooth. Its a light coral color with brown toned nude. The blush has visible shimmer but they are so soft and finely milled they impart a subtle glow on the cheeks after application. Its a pretty comapct quad with the two diagonal shades being matte and two being shimmery.

 TEXTURE:  Its so smooth and almost feels creamy, well its not cream but powder. But ever so smooth and blends like a dream. The finish it leaves on the skin is very natural looking, and this particular shade just warms up the face so perfectly. This shade is best suited for fair to medium skinned beauties.

The blush is so light weight and blends into the skin so well, it doesnt budge from its place for hours and hours. It easily lasts up to 7-8 hours. It might well stay beyond that, but I havent worn it above that time frame.

APPLICATION: I just swirl the blush brush into all the colors and pat off the excess product, you really dont need a lot product as it is densely pigmented and a little goes a long way.

OVERALL VERDICT: TWO THUMBS UP to this beauty. Definitely recommend it and gonna pick up other colors.

E.L.F. STUDIO CONTOURING BLUSH AND BRONZING POWDER IN ST. LUCIA REVIEW AND SWATCHES

Hello everyone.
This post is going to be review of an E.L.F product that I believe is te most talked about product from the brand. This was my first E.L.F  purchase and I was relatively unaware of the hype surrounding this product. It has been compared to a similar duo from NARS which contains their best selling blush and bronzer, ORGA*M and LAGUNA respectively.
Yes, NARS, although I believe this product has been reviewed around a lot in the blogo-sphere I too felt the need to add my two cents...

Oh well I forgot to mention  what we are talking about. Its he E.L.F CONTOURING BLUSH AND BRONZING POWDER IN ST. LUCIA.
So well off we go to the review:

PRICE: All of E.L.F. products  are dirt cheap and this one is priced for $3 USD .
PACKAGING: The packaging is similar to the NARS duo, black matte rectangular plastic case with a mirror inside, he lid snaps shut pretty tight so it is travel friendly. I quiet like the packaging its not cheap looking.

Pigmentation:: This is interesting, while the bronzer is very pigmented and requires a very light hand for application, the pigmentation on the blush is average, and needs more product to build up. But the color of the blush is so so so pretty, you just want to have it. Both the blush and bronzer have shimmer into them but it imparts a rather healthy glow to the skin and is not chunky at all. The color of the blush is just the perfect peachy pink color and that of the bronzer is deeper brown perfect to bring out the contours of the face and also to warm the face.

I use this bronzer all the time as a contour product and the shimmer doesnt seem to bother at all. Another thing that I like a lot in the bronzer and the blush is that during the course of the day the it doesnt seem to oxidize on me and neither does the fine glitter wander away on the face.
Apart from all the other goodness one in particular that is worth mentioning is the amazing staying power of these, I was totally thrown away as I didnt expect it to last all day on me.

One of my major concern for the product was that being so cheap will it affect my skin and give me break outs and stuff, but thankfully nothing of the sorts happened.( not that paying a hefty sum of money ensures that, it just was my concern that the quality was not compromised for the price).
If I would anythign different than it would be probably just a little bit lesser shimmer. Other wise both the colors are perfect.
So overall I would say it is a MUST TRY product. I love it and have been using it for years now.

MAYBELLINE DREAM BOUNCY BLUSH IN CANDY CORAL REVIEW AND SWATCHES

For this post I am going to be reviewing a cream blush by Maybelline, I love cream blushes so when maybelline launched these I was irking to try these blushes, especially this shade as I dont have anything quiet so coral.

Anyhow, lets begin the review
Packaging: This blush is packaged in a plastic container with a transparent lid , through which you can easily see the color. Also when the blush is new, it is dome shaped.

Price:   $7.99 USD
Color: Candy color as the name suggests is a coral orange blush. I like the color as its a perfect mix of coral and orange.

Texture: The texture of these blushes is quiet unique, its squishy to touch, the blush presses down when you touch it and comes back up. It is smooth to touch and it feels velvet like. Its texture is very different from the NYX Cream blush. It is creamy to touch and as you blend it turns to a powder finish.

Pigmentation: Its pigmentation is okay, its not overly pigmented you do need to layer the product, which is not something you would want especially with such a light shade.
The only thing is it blends well into the skin so even if you have to layer it it doesnt feel heavy ,
, so you can add more product without the fear of over applying it.

Staying power: Okay, so here is the problem, firstly the color is too light you need to really pack it on, once you get the desired amount and blend it , its a pretty coral color which I absolutely love but the staying power on these is not super impressive. It stays good for 4 hours on my dry skin, but if you have oily skin I dont think it would last even that long.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:When I got this blush, the color looked so lovely but the pigmentation and staying power disappointed me, still its texture is quiet unique and I might actually try other warmer and deeper colors from this range, wouldnt repurchase this one though. Its good for my dry skin as it does leave a dewy effect and doesnt feel sticky on the face.
But if you have oily skin you might want to skip it.
Trying to get a decent picture with a swatch was an uphill task I tired but the color doesnt quiet show up. As much as I like the color I think this blush is suited was more fair skinned beauties.
I still use it and love it though, will not repurchase it, maybe try it in some other shade.

MAKEUP 101 BACK TO BASICS :BLUSH

This is yet another post on the series of back to basics. This one is dedicated to blush. Blush is the perfect way to perk up those cheeky cheeks. One needs to choose the blush depending on their skin type, complexion and overall face makeup.If you are going for a smokey eye look you need to keep the blush sheer or light toned or if you going for a daytime look or just light eye makeup you can go for a more brighter blush to perk up the face.
Now lets go through the different kinds of blushes. There are powder, mineral and cream blushes. How to go about choosing and applying blushes will be discussed now...

1. TYPE: While powder blushes are good for oily skin as they absorb the extra oil cream blushes are good for dry skin as they give a dewy feel to the skin. If you want your blush to be long lasting then you can add some powder blush on top of your cream blush and your blush is good for the day.

2. LIGHTING: This is a general advise. Always apply  makeup in a well lit place so you know if you overdoing something, especially with blush as too much on your cheeks will give you clown like cheeks.

3. BRUSHES: If you are using a powder blush use a blush brush like so in the picture below.

If you going for a cream blush use either your finger or a stippling brush like so in the picture. It hepls blend the blush flawlessly in to the skin.

4. APPLICATION: Okay this is important. You might have often heard that you should apply blush on the "apple of your cheeks". Well you shouldn't. First rule never smile and apply blush; instead make a fish face( suck your face in) and then apply blush to the center of the apple of your cheeks. Or in simpler terms when you make a fish face apply the blush on the area that is on your cheekbone.

5. COLOR: If you are fair skinned then you should go for more softer and lighter shades as anything too bright will clash against your skin tone. Go for light pinks peaches and even corals that are sheer remember a little goes a long way.

If you are medium skinned you should opt for more pink and peach shades that are on warmer side like rosy pinks and peach shades that are more darker. Deeper corals bright pinks will add instant brightness to your face.

If you are dark skinned you should go for more darker pinks more mauve and rosy pinks ( not brighter) and deep orange shades as they will bring out your natural skin color. You shouldnt shy away from deep reds and oranges just go with a sheer formula and rock it.

REVIEW OF NYX CREAM BLUSHES: GLOW , GOLDEN,TEA ROSE, HOT PINK, BOHO CHIC

This blog post is dedicated to my love for NYX cream blushes. God I love them and i have every reason to love them.. I have 5 of theses lovelies in my stack. These blushes are super blendeble and long lasting and they leave a dewy finish on the skin.
1. Golden
2. Boho chic
3. Hot pink
4. Tea rose
5. Glow
Now lets get into the nitty gritty
PRICE: $5-$7 or Rs. 550-650.
PACKAGING
 Net weight of the blush is 3.5 gms (0.12 oz). I would give the packaging an 5/5
COLOR AND CONSISTENCY
These blushes are extremely creamy and soft with a velvety feel to them and blend easily. The downside to being so creamy is that they cannot be kept in warm place. Color wise these blushes are extremely pigmented and true to color and the best part is that they are long lasting. you can use them underneath your powder blush to increase the staying power of the blush.
APPLICATION
Cream blushes can be applied in number of ways fingers, brush, beauty blender or regular facial sponge. My favorite method to use it is with a stippling brush as it allows me more control and blends smoothly. Alternately i use whatever is handy with me at the moment finger or sponge or brush.

FINAL VERDICT:
I love these blushes and am very happy with the application and color pay off of these blushes. My favorite of these blushes are HOT PINK and GLOW.
